Share the find. Respect the field.

Rock Hound public collections are for geology specimens, responsible collecting and constructive learning. These rules apply to public profiles, photographs, specimen fields and reports.

Share only what belongs here

Publish your own photographs or material you have permission to share. Describe specimens honestly. Do not impersonate people or organisations, fabricate provenance, post spam, or use public fields for advertising unrelated goods and services.

Keep it safe and lawful

Do not post sexual content, exploitation, graphic violence, hate, harassment, threats, instructions for dangerous testing, illegal collecting activity, private personal information or content that infringes intellectual-property rights. Rock Hound identifications are not safety advice.

Reports and enforcement

Use Report on a public profile or specimen when these rules may have been broken. Use Block to remove a collector from your feed and discovery. Mashr may filter, limit, remove or preserve content for investigation and may suspend accounts for serious or repeated violations.
